Outdoor weddings have always been popular, but they've grown even more popular since the recent pandemic. In 2019, 57% of weddings were outdoor weddings. In 2020, 68% of weddings were outdoor weddings. If you know you want an outdoor wedding, you still have a lot of choices when it comes to the wedding venue. Consider these five outdoor wedding venue options.

Beach

The beach comes with a built-in romantic aesthetic, especially if you catch the sunset. It's also a more laid-back vibe for women who don't want to wear high heels or restrictive dresses. While you may still have sand in your wedding cake on your first anniversary, you're sure to love those sandy memories. If you don't live close to the ocean, you can find a beautiful beach at a nearby lake.

National Park

The country is filled with natural treasures complete with trees and mountains. If you get married in a national park, you'll have beautiful backdrops for your pictures. Many national parks have wedding programs to help you make your day a day to remember. While slightly more rustic than the beach, national parks also create a romantic and bohemian aesthetic.

Botanical Gardens

When you plan your wedding at a botanical garden, the flowers will already be included in the venue. Botanical gardens are gardens with documented plants designed for research and beautification. For something a little bit different, plan your wedding in a Japanese garden complete with Asian architecture, cherry blossoms, and koi ponds. If you choose the Japanese theme, consider serving sushi and other Japanese delicacies for dinner.

Vineyard

Vineyards bring a certain amount of sophistication to your wedding. You'll also get a view of beautiful vineyards in the background of your pictures. You could incorporate wine in your wedding colors. You should also be sure to serve the wine from the vineyard wedding venue. Make sure you serve a white and a red so you have all of your guests covered. Pair the wine with local gourmet cheeses and cuisine.

Farm/Ranch

Do you and your betrothed prefer boots to formal footwear and beer to wine? You may appreciate the aesthetic of a farm or ranch wedding venue. You'll be able to take pictures with animals and haystacks in the background. You will also wear cowboy boots instead of heels or dress shoes. You can choose an unpretentious menu filled with meat and comfort food favorites with beer and homemade moonshine.
